This interior design of a historic, completely renovated early 20th-century luxury villa on the shore of Lake Como is an ideal setting for an interior design experience by Angelo Cappellini. The harmonious dialogue between the indoor and outdoor spaces, between the natural environment and the furniture design, creates a unique and striking atmosphere.
The company’s collections decorate one of the five apartments into which the villa was divided during the restyling project, keeping the original architectural structure intact. A classical baroque style permeates the space, with the second floor dedicated to the living area and the upper floor designated for the sleeping area, totaling 250 square meters. This distinction is reflected in the nuances and colors of the furnishings and finishes.
“We started by fulfilling the client’s requests, starting with antique pink as the guiding color,” explains Francesca Arrighi, owner of the Como-based Arrighi Design studio, responsible for the interior design project.
The company’s craftsmanship finds its perfect expression here. In the living area, numerous elements from the Canaletto collection enrich the living and dining areas; the white finish with touches of patinated gold leaf illuminates the deeper tones of the fabrics and velvets.
The dining table top was custom-made following the designer’s instructions, “choosing different woods that coordinate with the antique pink of the furniture and curtains.”
The sleeping area, on the other hand, presents a different atmosphere, played on light blue tones to communicate with the outdoors and recall the crystal-clear waters of the lake the balcony overlooks. From the cool hues of the wallpaper to the slightly antiqued silver finish of the furniture elements, everything contributes to a refined atmosphere.
In the bedrooms, the Wagner collection stands out, flanked by custom-made closets, dressers and TV furniture, as well as the dormeuse, customized with more upholstery.
The company’s manufacturing flexibility becomes a distinctive element, contributing to the creation of residential and contract projects with a strong character, inserting singular value within a classic identity from time to time.
